How-to
Voiding an envelope and sending reminders
Cancel an envelope before everyone signs (Void), or nudge a recipient who hasn't signed yet (Remind). Both actions are logged.

Voiding
Use Void when an envelope is no longer valid — wrong document, wrong recipient email, withdrawn offer, contract amended before signing.
- Open the envelope detail page.
- Click Void.
- Add an optional reason (useful for your audit trail later).
What happens:
- The envelope status changes to Voided.
- Any outstanding links stop working — pending recipients can no longer sign.
- Recipients who've already signed keep their signed timestamps in the history. Nothing is erased.
Sending reminders
Use Remind when a recipient hasn't signed yet and you want to nudge them.
- Open the envelope detail page.
- Find the pending recipient row.
- Click Send reminder.
What happens:
- A reminder email is sent to that recipient with the same link (same token — not a new link).
- The reminder is logged in the envelope's event timeline.
- The expiry date is unchanged.
When NOT to send a reminder
- You sent to the wrong email address — void the envelope and create a new one with the correct address. Don't reuse the link.
- The document content has changed — void and re-create. Don't ask someone to sign a document that's now different.
Audit trail
Every void and every reminder appears on the envelope event timeline (visible on the detail page) and in the wider audit log. Each entry records who did it, when, and from what IP address — useful if you ever need to demonstrate the chain of events.
