Pay frequency setup

  1. Open Settings > Payroll.
  2. The Period configuration card shows your current setup.
  3. Click Edit.
  4. Set:

Fields

  • Frequencymonthly / 4_weekly / fortnightly / weekly
  • Period end day — for monthly: the day of month the period ends (typical: 25 for a 26-of-month payday). For weekly/fortnightly: the day of week (0=Sun…6=Sat).
  • Payment lag days — how many days after period end the payment hits employees' accounts (typical: 1–5 working days)

Effects

  • The Run sheet preview page uses these defaults to suggest period dates.
  • The New pay run modal pre-fills period start/end/payment date based on today + frequency.
  • Statutory leave calculators use the frequency to break down weekly statutory amounts into your period.

Changing mid-year

If you move from monthly to weekly (rare), the next pay run uses the new frequency. YTD totals carry forward — PAYE / NI cumulative continue to work because the calculator works in tax-year units regardless of frequency.
