- Click Edit.
- Set:
Fields
- Frequency —
monthly/4_weekly/fortnightly/weekly - Period end day — for monthly: the day of month the period ends (typical: 25 for a 26-of-month payday). For weekly/fortnightly: the day of week (0=Sun…6=Sat).
- Payment lag days — how many days after period end the payment hits employees' accounts (typical: 1–5 working days)
Effects
- The Run sheet preview page uses these defaults to suggest period dates.
- The New pay run modal pre-fills period start/end/payment date based on today + frequency.
- Statutory leave calculators use the frequency to break down weekly statutory amounts into your period.
Changing mid-year
If you move from monthly to weekly (rare), the next pay run uses the new frequency. YTD totals carry forward — PAYE / NI cumulative continue to work because the calculator works in tax-year units regardless of frequency.
