Defining a mandatory course
- Growth > Learning & Development > Mandatory training.
- Click Add course.
- Fill in:
- Course name — e.g. "Cyber security awareness"
- Description — what employees need to learn
- Validity period (months) — how long before re-take is required. Cyber awareness = 12, first aid = 36, fire warden = 12.
- Applies to —
all_employees/by_department/by_role. Pick the scope. - Department filter — if
by_department, select which departments - Effective from — when the requirement starts (employees hired before this date are grandfathered unless you force re-training)
- Save.
Recording completion
Per employee, add a training record matching the mandatory course name (see Adding a training record).
The system links the record to the course definition. Expiry = completion_date + validity_period.
Compliance check
Growth > L&D > Compliance shows per-employee:
- Compliant — all required courses completed and current
- Non-compliant — missing course(s) OR expired course(s)
- Missing — list of required courses with no current record
Filters: department, role, status (compliant / non-compliant / expired).
Dashboard widget
The HR dashboard has a "Training compliance" widget showing % compliant across the tenant. Drill in for the non-compliant list.
Audit prep
Useful for regulated sectors:
- Print the compliance grid as evidence
- Per-employee certificate downloads from the L&D tab
- Audit log captures every training record add/edit
