Inviting an employee to self-service
Send a one-time magic link that lets an employee view their own profile, leave, documents, payslips, onboarding tasks, and reviews.

Send a self-service invite
- Open People > Employees and click the employee.
- On the Overview tab, click Send invite.
- Confirm the email address.
The employee receives an email with a magic link valid for 7 days. Clicking it:
- Prompts them to set a password (new Blankitt users), or
- Auto-links their existing Blankitt user to the HR employee record (returning users).
Once linked, the My stuff section appears in their sidebar with:
- My profile
- My leave (book + balances)
- My documents (personal vault)
- My payslips
- My onboarding (per-employee checklist)
- My reviews
- Feedback requests (during 360 cycles)
- Signatures awaiting signature
Re-inviting
If the link expires or you sent it to the wrong address, re-send: a new link invalidates the old one. The invite is single-use — once accepted, the link is destroyed.
Self-link for admins
If you're an HR admin and your own employee record exists but isn't linked to your portal user (common for the founder who set up HR before being hired into it), you can self-link from My profile > Link to existing employee.
