FAQ

How does bank-payment auto-match work?

The matcher links incoming bank lines to outstanding bills and invoices by amount, reference, name, and date.

When a bank transaction comes in — a debit out for a payment, a credit in for a sales-invoice receipt — the matcher looks at amount, reference, supplier or customer name, and date proximity. High-confidence matches auto-link the bank line to the corresponding outstanding bill or invoice. Lower-confidence matches surface as suggestions in the bank rec inbox; you confirm or reject. The matcher is outstanding-aware: it won't suggest a match that would over-pay a bill or invoice, so partials and overpayments stay manual.
