How long does a BACS payment take to clear?
Three working days under the standard BACS cycle — submit the file three days before the date you want it to land.

Three working days under the standard BACS cycle: file submitted Day 0, processed Day 1, credited to the supplier Day 2 (sometimes Day 3 for non-clearing banks). Same-day clearing isn't possible on BACS — use Faster Payments for that. Set the payment_date on your run to the date you want the money to land at the supplier, then submit the file three working days before. Weekends and bank holidays don't count as working days, so a Friday-submission run typically credits on the following Tuesday.
