Connect a Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace mailbox for sync

How to connect an existing Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace mailbox so Blankitt imports DMARC reports already arriving there, and how to set the polling schedule.

If DMARC aggregate reports are already being delivered to an existing mailbox, you can connect that mailbox and let Blankitt import them — no DNS change required to get started. This is Mailbox sync, an alternative to direct ingest.

Which should I use? Direct ingest (publishing your <token>@rua.blankitt.com address in DNS) is the recommended approach for new setups. Mailbox sync is ideal when reports are already landing in a Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace inbox and you'd rather import them than change DNS. You can use either, or both.

Connect a mailbox

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Go to Mailbox sync.
  3. Choose your provider — Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace.
  4. Follow the consent prompt to authorise Blankitt to read the mailbox. You'll be redirected to Microsoft or Google to grant access, then back to Blankitt.
  5. Once connected, Blankitt will begin importing DMARC aggregate reports from that mailbox.

Set the sync schedule

A sync-schedule selector controls how often Blankitt polls the connected mailbox for new reports. You can choose anywhere from Every hour up to Once a day.

  • Because mailbox providers typically send aggregate reports only about once a day, a daily poll is usually plenty.
  • A more frequent schedule (for example hourly) picks up new reports sooner if you want the freshest view.

Check sync status and history

The Sync page shows the status and history of your mailbox sync, including past runs — so you can confirm imports are working and see when reports were last pulled in.

Notes

  • Mailbox sync changes are recorded in the Activity log.
  • If you'd prefer reports to come straight to Blankitt without using an existing mailbox, set up direct ingest instead — see Find your ingest address and publish your _dmarc record.
  • You can always supplement either method by manually uploading report files (.xml/.gz/.zip) on the Reports page.

Next step

Once reports start importing, head to the Dashboard and Offenders to see your sending sources. See How long until I see data?
