DMARC comparison
Blankitt DMARC vs dmarcian
dmarcian is a veteran in this space, built by people close to the DMARC specification itself, with a deserved reputation for deep expertise and excellent educational content. If you are weighing the two, here is an honest look at where each fits — so you can pick on substance, not marketing.
Why people compare the two
The buying pressure is real and already here. Google and Yahoo have required SPF, DKIM and DMARC from bulk senders since February 2024, and Gmail escalated to permanent rejection of non-compliant mail in November 2025. Microsoft's high-volume sender requirements moved from junk-routing in May 2025 to hard 550 rejections and are actively enforced as of early 2026. Apple iCloud now treats p=none as a negative signal, and PCI DSS 4.0 has mandated DMARC for entities handling card data since March 2025.
Both Blankitt and dmarcian solve the same core job: ingest your DMARC reports, show you every service sending as you, and help you move safely from p=none to quarantine to reject without breaking legitimate mail. The differences are in residency, hosting, how plans are packaged, and the team standing behind it.

Where dmarcian is a great choice
Credit where it is due. dmarcian has been doing DMARC since the early days of the standard, and that heritage shows. If your priorities are these, they are a strong, trusted option:
- Deep DMARC expertise. Their team includes people who worked on the specification itself — hard to beat on pedigree.
- Strong educational content. Their guides and knowledge base have helped a generation of admins understand email authentication.
- Trusted heritage. A long track record and an established customer base in the DMARC market.
If you specifically want a long-standing, US-headquartered DMARC specialist and data residency is not a constraint for you, dmarcian is a perfectly sensible pick.
Where Blankitt fits
Blankitt is built for UK and EU organisations that want their email-authentication data to stay close to home, packaged simply, with a clear path to enforcement. Choose Blankitt when these matter:
- UK/EU data residency. DMARC forensic reports contain personal data; we process yours in the UK and Republic of Ireland, away from US CLOUD Act exposure.
- An on-prem self-host option. If your data cannot leave your walls, deploy Blankitt on your own infrastructure with Docker — air-gapped friendly, unlimited domains.
- Every feature on every plan. SSO, forensic/RUF reports, full API and mailbox sync are never paywalled. We gate only on domain count and a retention ladder — no per-feature upsell.
- A sensible multi-domain middle. Plans run from 1 to 100 domains, with extra domains at +£4 each per month, so a growing estate does not force an enterprise jump.
- Guided, plain-English enforcement. A policy simulator and step-by-step recommendations take you from
p=nonetorejectwithout breaking real mail. - One login, one bill. If you also run Blankitt for IT, Finance, HR or GRC, DMARC sits in the same suite — no separate vendor, contract or invoice.
A note on scope: Blankitt monitors your domain's email authentication and gets it to safe enforcement so mailbox providers trust it. We do not claim to guarantee inbox placement — no monitoring tool honestly can.
No feature gates — by design
The thing customers tell us they hate most about DMARC tooling is discovering the feature they need sits one tier up. Blankitt does not do that. SSO, forensic/RUF reports, API access and mailbox sync are on the free plan as well as Business and on-prem. The only honest differences between plans are how many domains you monitor and how long we keep your history.
Frequently asked questions
Can I migrate from dmarcian to Blankitt?
Yes — and there's no lock-in either way. DMARC reporting is driven entirely by your domain's public DNS record. Migrating means publishing the Blankitt rua address (or connecting a Microsoft 365 / Google Workspace mailbox) and updating the rua tag in your DMARC TXT record. Reports start flowing from the next reporting window. You can even list both addresses during the switch and remove the old one once you're happy.
Is Blankitt cheaper than dmarcian?
We don't pitch on price, and we won't start a price war. Both have a paid entry tier in a similar range. The real difference is value: every Blankitt plan includes every feature, your data stays in the UK/EU, and you can self-host if it can't leave your walls. Choose on residency, simplicity and the bundle — not on a few pounds a month.
Why does data residency matter for DMARC?
Forensic (RUF) reports can carry message-level metadata — From/To headers and subjects — which is personal data under UK GDPR. Processed in the US, it can fall within scope of the US CLOUD Act. Blankitt processes DMARC data in the UK and Republic of Ireland, with on-prem available when data must stay on your own kit.
I used NCSC Mail Check — is Blankitt a replacement?
Yes. NCSC's Mail Check and Web Check were fully retired on 31 March 2026, and NCSC pulled DMARC aggregate reporting and DKIM insights even earlier. UK public-sector bodies and their suppliers have already lost their free government DMARC reporting — Blankitt is a UK-built, UK-supported replacement. See our Mail Check replacement guide.
